Prevention and Preparation for Pregnancy

Pregnancy

What about the cost of the check-ups?

The check-ups during pregnancy are free and are covered by your health insurance. As a pregnant woman, you are entitled to ten to twelve preventive medical check-ups, which take place every four weeks, although closer supervision is common in the last few weeks. Medicines that you must take due to your pregnancy are also free of charge.

Do I have to pay for the antenatal class myself?

Usually not. If you are legally insured, the health insurance will cover these costs. In individual cases, however, it is best to ask your cash register, as not all offers are subsidized equally. Dads usually pay themselves.

Should diapers be bought now?

Great idea! It is best to get a supply of diapers for new-borns early on. If the child comes earlier, you are thus prepared. You can now also take your time to deal with and inform yourself about the topic of cloth diapers as a sustainable, environmentally friendly alternative to disposable diapers. Maybe that’s something that suits you and your attitudes?
